photography DAVE JACKSON

"I first picked up a camera seriously about three years ago, after getting my hands on my dad's old Mamiya 35mm SLR camera he bought in the Philippines in the late 60's. Without any education in the field, I took it upon myself to learn the basics through a series of hands-on trial and error. Inspired by shooting photos of bands at various live shows, I decided photography was something I viewed as a personal passion, making it a commitment to pursue. I now find myself surrounded by the everyday events of a mid-sized Wisconsin town and often look to those still moments of ordinary life within and the people that have made a lasting impression upon me, as simple inspiration. Photography is an evolving and unpredictable form of art, but I find that the heart of my work lies in the very basics of the art altogether. There is nothing special or significant about my photos. I would only hope that the images I create, portray the emotions and feelings that are envisioned in my creative outlook."
